In the BlackBerry Pearl there's two known ways of locking the keypad so numbers aren't dialed accidentally while you store your phone into your pocket or purse.
One being pressing the mute key while you are on the home screen which puts it in "Standby Mode"(see image) | ![]() |
OR the second option which is using "Keyboard Lock" which is available where you find all other programs | ![]() |
Now there's a software that automatically locks your keypad for you without having to worry about annoying scrolling and clicking... it's the "AutoLock" Software. AutoLock automatically turns on the keylock on the Pearl after the blacklight turns off.
After installation, all options are in Options->AutoLock. Current options are:
* Enable/Disable
* Delay after backlight turns off: 1sec,5s,10s,15s,30s,45s,1min,2min,5min,10min
* Action when plugged in: Lock/Don't Lock
* Action when on call: Lock/Don't Lock

PEARLICIOUS TIP: You can also swiftly lock the keyboard of your Pearl, by simply pressing the SYM-Key for a few seconds.
