Completely Customize the phone contacts on your BlackBerry

A complete custom phone book can be easier on the eye (If you are a bit lazy like me :-p I'd rather view a picture of who's calling from afar than to read the phone contact's name)
Here are 10 simple steps to completely customize your phone contacts:

is the Menu Key

To add a contact to the phone book, perform the following steps:
1. At the Home screen, press the Menu key.

2. Scroll to the Address Book icon and click the trackball.

3. Press the Menu key.

4. Scroll to New Address and click the trackball.

5. Fill in the contact information. You can add pictures, custom ringtones and website address to further make your phone contacts unique and easily accessible.

To add photo: First save the image off the internet (I usually visit my facebook and find a photo to use and save it first) or transfer a photo from your desktop to your BB Pearl, then once in the contact edit mode simply click Trackball then "Add Picture". Find your image and crop image as you like (Note: There are options under menu key). Once you're done, press Menu key and select "Crop and Save".
To add custom ringtone for contact: Press Menu key, then "Add Custom Ring Tone".
To add 2nd email option: Press Menu key, then "Add Email Address"

6. You can also get the PIN (a special set of digits assigned uniquely to each BlackBerry User) of your friends and add it to their contact information. This makes it easier for you to later add them to your BlackBerry Messenger. You can find your own PIN by going back to Home Screen, then "Options", then "Status". PIN usually consists 8 alpha-numerics.

7. You can also add their websites (including their personal/company website or even their facebook and myspace website) - which makes it easy for you to view their site without filling up your browser favourites.

8. You probably noticed "User 1", "User 2", ... and wondering what they are? Well, they are simply customizable fields so you can make it your own. For example, I used up my User 1, User 2 as Website 1, Website 2... so I can add my friend's facebook or myspace account underneath it. You can also use it as an extra Phone number slot if most of your contacts have more than 3 phone numbers.

9. "Notes" allows you to make any personal notes as a reminder to you when you look up your contacts... this can be as simple as reminding yourself to only call this contact during certain hours, or to remind yourself of an important date regarding this contact. (Don't forget you can save yourself the embarrasment of forgetting someone's birthday by simply filling up your Birthday Date and/or Anniversary Date!)

10. That pretty much sums up you much you can customize your phone contacts. Once you are done RMEMEBER TO SAVE, simply press the Menu key and select Save.
